Tim’s Fencing Academy At Tim’s Fencing Academy, we are dedicated to introducing and developing fencers of all ages and experience levels. Our club is built on community, high-quality coaching, and a genuine love for the sport. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to advance your skills, we provide a welcoming space where you can learn, grow, and challenge yourself. Our main location is in Roncesvalles Village, and we also train out of a partner facility in North York. What We Offer Beginner and Group Instruction We offer structured beginner programs that teach the fundamentals of Olympic fencing in a fun, supportive environment. Our youth classes are organized by age — such as 6–9 and 10–14 — so students can learn alongside their peers. For adults, we provide beginner courses designed to help you build confidence and technique from the ground up. Private Lessons and Skill Development We provide one-on-one private lessons for fencers who want personalized instruction and faster skill development. If you’re new to fencing, we supply all essential equipment for your first six months so you can focus entirely on learning the sport without the upfront cost of gear. Open Fencing and Year-Round Training We offer open fencing sessions that allow you to practice freely, spar with other members, and apply what you’ve learned in a dynamic setting. Our membership options include access to open training hours and reduced private lesson fees, giving you consistent opportunities to improve. Seasonal Camps and Special Programs Throughout the year, we run youth fencing camps — including winter break and other seasonal sessions. These camps are designed to keep kids active, focused, and excited about fencing, with plenty of time dedicated to drills, technique, games, and skill-building. School Outreach We also bring fencing directly into schools. Our outreach program introduces students to the sport through hands-on learning, movement, and an introduction to fencing’s history and fundamentals. It’s a great way for kids to try something new in an educational and inclusive way. Our Coaching and Community Our coaching team is committed to helping every fencer succeed. We emphasize safety, respect, strong fundamentals, and an encouraging attitude. We want our students to not only improve their fencing skills but also build confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for the sport. Our community is supportive and close-knit — we celebrate progress, work hard, and have a lot of fun together. Who We Serve We welcome: Children and youth who are new to fencing or looking to build strong foundational skills. Teens and adults seeking an engaging, mentally and physically rewarding sport. Families wanting a high-quality athletic experience with excellent coaching and a positive environment. Schools and educators interested in offering fencing as part of their physical education curriculum.
