Young Engineers - Afterschool Program

Our Extended Afterschool Program starts right after school dismissal. Designed with working families in mind, from school dismissal to aftercare to meaningful enrichment.

Key features include:

• Supervised pick-up available from nearby schools upon request (conditions apply)

• A community-based environment where kids can transition, relax, and connect

• Outdoor testing time and hands-on building where students apply what they’ve learned

• Time for deeper learning: kids need space to build, test, fail, troubleshoot, and try again—learning shouldn’t be rushed; it’s a journey

Wednesdays — Annette Community Centre

Tuesday — Dovercourt PS

• Supervised pick-up available from: Pauline PS, St. Anthony CS

What’s in the Extended Afterschool Program This Spring?
In addition to mechanical engineering, intro coding and robotics, students will explore multiple disciplines of engineering, including:

• Water Resources Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Structural Engineering

• Mining Engineering

• Aerospace Engineering

• Architecture

• And more!

Outdoor Experiments & Real-World Testing
As the weather gets nicer, we’ll take some learning outdoors to test our creations—observing, adjusting, and improving just like real engineers.

2 Full Hours of Exploration (Extended Program)
With more time, students can:

• Explore concepts more deeply

• Experiment, problem-solve, and iterate

• Test and refine their builds

• Develop leadership and teamwork

• Relax, connect, and build community

This program is designed with working families in mind and includes one built-in make-up class in the fee.
