About
StarSkate is Silver Blades’ figure skating stream for skaters who have completed all six stages of CanSkate and are ready to focus on skills, dance, freeskate, and artistic skating. Skaters train in group and private lesson formats and are grouped into Preliminary, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels based on Skate Canada STAR assessments and age.
Preliminary skaters (Stage 6–STAR 2) may join Intro to Preliminary or Regular Preliminary, while Junior, Intermediate, and Senior skaters must have passed specific STAR assessments and work with a private coach. Across all levels, sessions help skaters build edge control, power, performance skills, and prepare for assessments and competition within Skate Canada’s STAR pathway.
StarSkate skaters must wear proper figure skates, skate at least two days per week, and meet level requirements (e.g., STAR 2 for Junior, STAR 5 for Intermediate, STAR 7 and age 13+ for Senior).
