RisingSTAR / STAR – West Toronto Skating Club (Toronto)
These programs help skaters progress from foundational skills to advanced figure skating techniques. RisingSTAR is a transitional group class, while STAR supports skaters working on STAR 1–3 tests. Both programs emphasize edge control, glide, agility, and blade precision.
What to Expect
RisingSTAR
Group-based instruction for skaters advancing beyond CanSkate
Focus on edge control, glide, agility, and blade precision
Prepares skaters for STARSkate and private coaching
Includes 50 minutes of on-ice group lesson and applicable off-ice training
By invitation or approval of Program Director
STAR
For skaters working on STAR 1–3 tests
Skaters work with private coaches to develop ice dance, skating skills, free skate, and interpretive skating
Opportunity to take Skate Canada tests through a nationally standardized system
Private lessons must be booked directly with coaches (fees separate)
