Jr. House League (U5 – U9)

Our Junior House League program gives young players aged U5 through U9 their first taste of hockey in a fun, safe, and team-oriented environment. We focus on building love for the game, foundational skating and hockey skills, and strong sportsmanship—while making sure every child feels supported and energized.

What to Expect

• Fun & Confidence-Building — Your child will learn to skate, pass, shoot, and play in a friendly team setting, with coaches prioritizing enjoyment and growth over competition.

• Skill Development at Every Stage — The curriculum aligns with the national introductory program and is tailored to each age group (U5, U6/U7, U8/U9) to meet the right skill level at the right time.

• Team Games & Special Events — Each player accesses multiple skills sessions, plus Sunday game days (e.g., U5: ~5 games; U6/7: ~8 games; U8/9: ~9 games), outdoor sessions, tournaments and festival-style events at season’s close.

• Community Experience — Jersey, socks, team photo, end-of-year event and awards are included, helping players feel part of something bigger.

Program Details

• Age/Divisions & Fees (2025-26 Example):

  • U5 (born 2020-21)

  • U6 & U7 (born 2019-20)

  • U8 & U9 (born 2018-17)

• Season Rhythm: Weekly sessions from late September through end of March, plus outdoor fun-ice experiences.

• Extras: Skilled coaches partnered with Stride Hockey’s skating school, size-appropriate equipment (lighter pucks/nets).

• For Players Aged 9 and Older: Participate in our TWHL House League, where athletes from Humber Valley and George Bell play exciting matches and become part of a dynamic local hockey community.

• Team Play, Skill Growth, and Fun: Players skate, pass, shoot, and compete in a friendly team-league structure that balances development with the excitement of game play.
