2026 Swimming Lessons (Havergal College) - TAC Aquatics

By TAC Sports

About

Program Overview

TAC Aquatics uses a clear, progressive swim development model, starting with water comfort and safety, moving through foundational and technical swimming skills, and advancing into endurance, rescue, and certification-based training. Each level is designed to meet swimmers where they are and support steady, confident progression through the program.

Swim Lesson Levels Explained

1. Parent & Tot (Approx. 4 months–3 years)

This introductory program is designed to help infants and toddlers become comfortable in the water alongside a parent or caregiver. Classes focus on water familiarity, gentle submersion, basic safety awareness, floating support, and early movement skills. The emphasis is on building confidence and comfort in a fun, low-pressure environment rather than formal swimming technique.

2. Preschool Swim Lessons (Ages 3–5)

Preschool lessons help young swimmers transition toward greater independence in the water. Children learn foundational skills such as floating, kicking, breath control, and basic propulsion. Classes are structured to build confidence while introducing early swimming mechanics, using small group sizes to ensure close instructor attention.

3. Swimmer Lessons (Ages ~6–18+)

These lessons are designed for school-aged swimmers and teens who are ready to focus on structured skill development. Swimmers work on stroke technique, endurance, and water safety skills, progressing through increasingly challenging levels. Instruction emphasizes proper mechanics, confidence swimming longer distances, and refining front crawl, back crawl, and other core skills. Lessons are available in group, semi-private, and private formats.

4. Patrol Program (Ages 7+)

The Patrol Program is for swimmers who have moved beyond basic lessons and are ready to develop endurance, rescue skills, and water safety leadership. It includes three progressive levels:

  • Rookie Patrol: Focuses on basic rescue skills, swimming endurance, and introductory first aid concepts.

  • Ranger Patrol: Builds on rescue techniques, endurance, and decision-making skills.

  • Star Patrol: Emphasizes advanced rescue scenarios, sustained swimming ability, and leadership readiness.

This pathway prepares swimmers for more advanced lifesaving and certification programs.

5. Pre-Competitive Swim Training

This program is intended for swimmers interested in advancing their technique and physical conditioning. Training focuses on stroke refinement, speed, endurance, starts, turns, and overall swim efficiency. It’s a strong option for swimmers considering competitive swimming or wanting higher-intensity technical development.

6. Lifesaving & Certification Courses (Ages ~11+)

For older swimmers and teens, TAC offers formal lifesaving and certification programs that build professional-level water safety skills. These courses focus on rescue judgment, first aid, CPR, and lifeguarding readiness, supporting pathways toward leadership roles and employment in aquatic environments.
