Primary / Grade 1 Ballet Our Primary / Grade 1 Ballet program is the next step for young dancers who are ready for more structured training. Building on early movement and creative play, this class introduces formal ballet technique while keeping learning fun and age-appropriate. What to Expect Foundational Technique — Students develop correct posture, foot and arm positions, simple barre work, and center practice. Musicality & Expression — Training helps dancers move gracefully and interpret music with artistry and confidence. Strength & Flexibility — Gentle conditioning and stretching support safe skill development. Performance Readiness — Young dancers begin to learn short choreographed routines and practice stage presence. Program Details Age Range: Typically Kindergarten – Grade 1 (around 5–7 years old) Structure: Progressive training that prepares students for higher ballet levels Season: Runs September through June, culminating in an end-of-year performance
